Just A Few Things

These are all sort of random things, but I have a few things to get out of my head before it bursts.

ONE

It is nomination time for the Blogger's Quilt Festival.

This little bad boy qualifies as a mini, home machine quilting, but  I would say a mini quilt is the best description for it.  If you feel so inclined, do you mind entering it for me?

Simply click on the image and it will take you STRAIGHT to the form!
My quilt is #3
You can enter mine as a mini, if you feel inclined!

I have a laundry list of nominations I was working on for others entries  It is quite a job going through 600+ quilts HERE!  It has been fun "meeting" new bloggers and seeing my old blogging friends bring out some of my favorites all over again.  I REALLY mean it!  I just hope I can get through all 600+ entries before the Spring Festival!  I am still just trying to catch up on all the lovely comments visitors have made the past few days.  I promise, I am hacking away a bit at a time!  I like to answer all of my comments!!

TWO

Button and I are off to the Houston Quilt Festival.

Our goal is to get some pictures of some of my friend's entries and some of the samples they have done for certain fabric design lines and fabric companies.  I hope they didn't pack up all their booths from the Market.  I also plan on looking at some tools for Ole Betsy!

Button keeps saying "titchin" and "kwits" when I say we are going to the quilt show.
 I hope he behaves!

 THREE

Just three, that is!

I missed out on October's link up, but I did get more than three things done!

November's goals?
I am chuckling because I think most people would have their Christmas projects on the list,
but, oooh nooo, not me!

One:
Finish my Imagine @ do. goodstitches bee quilt.

I bought the backing fabric and all I need to do is get it on Ole Betsy sometime this weekend!

Two:
Finish my hoop project for the Hoop-la-la swap on Flickr

Hoop-la-la fabric pulls

I pulled my fabrics and it seems my partner is happy...so I need to just dive in!

Three:
 Disney

We have a Disney trip in the near future and I really want to get a
1. A few shirts embroidered for Button

2. possibly a Mickey quilt...it is cold in Orlando in November, right?  *snort*

For my Mickey Mouse fans...maybe even Button.

This is pinned on my Pinterest...but you can click on the image to the original!

3.  And a tote bag that is Disney-esque.

Linking up with Tracey at Traceyjay Quilts.  The beautiful and wonderful host of Just Three.

Did you notice the THREE theme I had today?
How about your three things?  What three things can you finish up this month?

WIP: Lowering My Expectations

July has disappeared in a blink of an eye and my boys go to back to school in less than two weeks.

Where has the summer gone!??!?

Finishes:

No finishes to report.  But I am okay with that.  Since my I Need Me post, I am feeling a bit more settled and balanced.  I am telling myself it is okay not to have everything done.  But check back in a week when I am in the midst of back to school frenzy!

In Progress:

Name Game Swap

I have to admit.  I am pretty stoked about this project.  My partner didn't have many photos in her Flickr and does not have a blog, therefore, making it rather difficult to find her style.  She didn't have any special requests...so I am having a little fun.

I am on the brink of finishing up...and I have to send it out soon...but I am not pressuring myself.  Just enjoying the process!

No Progress:
Retro Flower QAL
Button's Nursery Quilt for twin bed
Christmas Quilt
Baby Girl Quilt Kit
Thank You Quilt
Merry, Merry Snowman BOM

New Project:

Machine Quilting Negative Space
by Angela Walters

A class, not a project.  But in the end, I know that a project will result from it!  As part of finding me, I have decided to take a big leap and take some classes on Craftsy.   I accidentally fell into Angela Walter's "Machine Quilting Negative Space" through a newsletter.  After I followed it and decided to enroll right there and then, I keep seeing ads for it all over the place.  I knew it was fate.

Why am I taking a class?  I think that even the most veteran quilters would say that there is always something new to learn, some technique to master, and hey, online interaction....uummm...yes, please!!!  My favorite part?  There is no pressure to finish the class in a allotted time.  I can do it whenever I can!!!

I have watched four classes and I am in the doodling....er *cough* um...excuse me...SKETCHING stage .  Angela is easy to listen and seems to answer questions pretty promptly.  I really love her peronality and am EXTREMELY excited to start moving beyond loops and meandering on Ole Betsy.  With the amount of investment we have made in her, I really want to use as best as I should and can! And if you can tell from above...I cannot stop doodling.  How convenient that I can use my new skill for my latest project?

Oh....and I am not only linking up with

I am also linking with Tracey's

Following her rules:

Last month's Goals? I threw them out the window.  I am starting fresh.

 This month's goals:
1. Finish my Name Game Swap by the required delivery date (Aug 15th)
2.  Sew some gifts for a friend that I promised to make her months ago.
3. Work on my Christmas quilts.  Whether it is my almost finished quilt top or at least one of my Merry, Merry Snowman blocks...I WILL get one done.

Good luck to everyone!!!!!!!
