Did you know that September is National Sewing month?
"The observance of National Sewing Month began in 1982 with a proclamation from President Ronald Reagan declaring September as National Sewing Month
'In recognition of the importance of home sewing to our Nation.'"
'In recognition of the importance of home sewing to our Nation.'"
What better way to celebrate the kickoff day of the month with a giveaway, sponsored by my favorite online fabric store, Fat Quarter Shop!!!!
This bundle contains 26 Kona solids that would be awesome as coordinates with prints for my more traditional followers or stand on their own for my more modern quilt followers!
All I'm asking you to do is to comment on this blogpost by midnight (CST), Saturday, September 3, 2016. I'll announce the winner on Monday, September 5th!
I am a modern quilter and love this bundle!!! I think i would make some maple leaves with it. Thanks for a fun give away!!!
ReplyDeleteI like to dabble in both, but mostly have been working at getting some of the "traditional" projects from way back when caught up. I love Kona cotton and use it frequently in various projects!
ReplyDeleteI call myself a modern/modern-traditionalist quilter. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a huge fan of solids, either way.

I would call myself a modern quilter, even though I don't fit all their criteria. I'm definitely a fan of solids!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what I would be considered as I am new to quilting. I do love modern patterns though but I do like some of the traditional ones as well.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'm a modern or traditional quilter. I'm a beginner quilter. And I just love Kona solids!
ReplyDeleteDid not realize that would come up as "unknown".
DeleteI consider myself a modern quilter as I prefer solids, and modern design.
ReplyDeleteI started my quilting journey as a traditional quilter, but if you asked me today, I would have to say I am more of a modern quilter! Thanks for this awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI would consider myself both modern and traditional but all of my physical creations have been traditional.

ReplyDeleteUmmm.... How about transitional? Not quite modern, but not quite traditional either. Or maybe I have an identity crisis? Lol Thanks for the giveaway opportunity! I could always use more pretty solids!
ReplyDeleteI machine piece but I hand quilt, so I only quilt what I like at this point. (Not enough time to do everything , especially with a 5-week old.)Starting to trend more toward traditional patterns with modern fabric.
ReplyDeleteI can't classify myself. I am a new quilter just trying to sew straight seams! I pick fabrics and patterns that appeal to me.

ReplyDeleteModern, I guess. But I'm not sure it matters...
ReplyDeleteMore modern, but with some traditional, I've been enjoying solids more lately too
ReplyDeleteI'm a modern traditionalist with a sense of quirk. I'm open to almost any style of block but prefer modern fabric styles more. I adore solids.
ReplyDeleteI am part traditional and part modern, and I mix the two with my choice of fabrics.

ReplyDeleteI am a traditionalist with a small streak of modern thrown in. I must add that my traditionalism takes some strange turns, with my collection of Civil War prints sitting next to my 30's prints, sitting next to my bright prints from My Sister and Me. And don't forget some prints from Lori Holt!
ReplyDeleteGo figure.
I would say that I am a traditional quilter, but I am starting to lean toward the brighter, more bold colors and prints lately! I still love those little Civil War prints and of course, anything Lori Holt creates.......thanks!

I am a traditional quilter and I always need blenders to give my blocks that extra pop
ReplyDeleteNeither. If pushed I'd say contemporary but I don't worry about the labels.
ReplyDeleteI like both but consider myself more modern if I have to label myself. Thanks for the chance. Love your blog and follow you on instagram.
ReplyDeleteI think i am a traditional quilter especially English Paper Piercing;)
ReplyDeleteI would say modern but I do like using traditional techniques with modern fabrics too... Love love love this bundle!
ReplyDeleteI'm the somewhere in between. I certainly learned using traditional patterns and fabrics, then ended up taking a break for several years. When I came back to quilting, it seems like everything has changed! Now my fabrics are out-of-date, and I don't have the funds to catch up, lol!
ReplyDeleteOh my! i really don't know. i am a fairly new quilter and i like what i like but i don't know if what i like is traditional or modern. i tend toward easy right now. Ask me in about 12 months and i may or may not know the answer. One thing i can say is that i have been bitten by the quilt bug. That is all i want to do lately. If i could quilt from dusk to dawn, i would! Thank you for the opportunity to win this fabric bundle. i am on a fixed income so it would be amazing to win.
ReplyDeleteI would say definitely modern. I love improv style and the fabrics I choose are definitely modern. Thank you for an amazing giveaway :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads-up, Heidi! I'm definitely more modern than traditional but I was first drawn to quilting by Amish work. Solids are indispensable to me and I'm always interested in exploring new colors.
ReplyDeleteHI,yes I'm a traditional quilter! I love the old blocks>cutting, piecing and quilting them! Thanks for your neat Blog+a beautiful Giveaway! msstitcher1214@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI think I am all of the above! Maybe modern the least, but I've tried it all, and love it all.
ReplyDeleteI am a completely beginner quilter. I have only made one quilt so far, so I don't think I can say that I am any "type" of quilter yet. But I think that I will end up being a more modern quilter. Thank you for this giveaway!
