Patchwork QAL: Block Twelve

 This quilt along has been a measure of my patience and fortitude.  I will admit that it confirmed my suspicions that I still haven't mastered the skill of small/tiny piecing.  But I'm glad I was up for the test and I still won't give up trying.

I think this month's block's name is perfect because only it's mother, me, could love it with all its trials and imperfections when it's done!!

Patchwork QAL: Block Eleven

November is my favorite month of the year.  

It may be related to the fact that it's my birthday today?

I actually think this block is perfect since this time of the year you do feel like the holidays are approaching quickly and things are spinning so fast!!

 I might finally be getting a hang of piecing these tiny blocks now!

Seeing my tray getting so full with blocks is so exciting!!!

 I have a confession.  I think this is the first BOM quilt I haven't given up on!!!

It's September. 

 It is raining and the temperature dropped to 54 degrees this morning. 

 I think I'm ready for fall!

Grandmother's Choice 

This block wasn't the easiest of the bunch.  Such tiny triangles to work with!!

The blue blocks are probably still my favorite of the bunch.

I can't believe there are only THREE months left until we have a finished quilt!

Patchwork QAL: Block Eight

School is about to start around these parts and I think the name of this block describes the way the year is "rolling" away from me.  Soon, Fall will be upon us with a vengeance!

Rolling Nine Patch

This block kept to the square and rectangle construction that many of the previous blocks had.

It's hard to believe that the stack is growing so high. I think it will soon be higher than the crate I've been collecting them in!

I feel like a broken record, but it never too late to start this quilt.

It's hard to believe that we crossed the halfway point, where the number of blocks to be made are less than the blocks we have!

The Propeller Block

This block instantly made me want to hop on a vintage plane with a silky scarf wrapped around my head and the ends fluttering behind me!

After seeing the seven piles of blocks...

I couldn't resist laying them out to see them all together this month.

I'm so excited!!!!

We are HALFWAY there!!! It's June and time for block five!!

The Round the Corner Block

Another block with teeny tiny squares and HST's....well....at least tiny for me!

I will admit, I kinda grit my teeth when I start out with the tiny bits, but then I start chain piecing them and I end up with six blocks!!

I just added this stack to my bin and realized we all should have 36 blocks now!

Isn't this stack just gorgeous!!

Patchwork Quilt QAL: Block Four

 It's the 15th of April...Tax Day here in the USA....a perfect day to bring smiles to people's faces by sharing block four of the Patchwork Quilt along with the Fat Quarter Shop!

The Star & Cross Block:

It is a fun mix of tiny HSTs and square and rectangle block units!

I have to admit...this striped one is my favorite this month.  It feels like Easter and Spring!!

I was super excited to add it to the blocks to my new wood crate that holds the now 24 blocks!!

Patchwork Quilt QAL: Block Two

It's the 15th of February, which means it is time for the second block of the Patchwork Quilt Along with the Fat Quarter Shop!

The Diamond Pane Block:

It really is a unique block that seems to draw your eye to different elements each time you stare at it. 

What else is awesome?  They made a video for the block!

If you are just stumbling upon this quilt along? No worries!  You can easily hop on the wagon train!

This is a quilt along that is designed to help the Make A Wish Foundation.

There are kits or you can quilt along with your own.   The blocks are free every 15th of the month. They only ask for a suggested donation of $5 to the Make a Wish campaign for each time you make a download.
